Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) is a superior anti-malware and client firewall protection for PCs and Macs. Texas Tech University has licensed SEP free of charge for faculty, staff, and students.
For personally owned computers, the unmanaged SEP should be used.
NSCs and other administrators of TTU-owned computers in each college/department must install the managed client software.
The client software will find the server automatically as long as the computer is connected to the TTUnet network via a wired connection, wireless, or VPN. No action is needed on part of the user for software check-in.
For a TTU-owned computer that is not joined to the TTU domain, the managed version of SEP will still need to be installed whether the computer is joined to the TTU Active Directory domain or not.
